Student Membership
Before you contact ACA to make a student application, please:
1. Check the ACA-Accredited courses list found here: https://www.theaca.net.au/careers-and-study.php
2. Ensure you are enrolled in the eligible course.
3. Read our Scope of Practice - the document that defines our profession and ACA standards, found here:https://www.theaca.net.au/documents/ACA_Scope_combined.pdf .
Of note please read page 12-14, on How ACA defines its membership levels against AQF qualifications. All levels of AQF qualifications must be in counselling or a counselling modality to be eligible to apply for ACA membership.
What if my course is not listed? If you can not find your course, please call your vocational or higher education provider first to see if they are reviewing their accreditation with ACA. ACA periodically reviews our accredited course listing, and engages with vocational and higher education providers to ensure their courses are reviewed and accredited to standards.
